If you have a full day to spend with us in Bodrum, we have some great intinerary choices for you to choose from. Most of our clients spend half the day taking in the Masoleum and the Bodrum Castle, and then will discuss with their guide which of the following other highlights interest them:

Gumusluk, a seaside village and fishing port on the western side of the Bodrum Peninusula, is situated on the remains of the ancient Carian city of Myndos. The remains of the foundations of ancient buildings and walls can be clearly seen in the knee-deep, partially sunken causeway that leads out to Rabbit Island. The quiantness of the village has been maintained by strict zoning, and is a favorite lunchtime choice for those choosing a "on the seaside" fish - grilled lunch. Also known to historians as the port Brutus and Cassius hid with their fleet after murdering Julius Caesar.

Mumcular villages are about 30 minutes drive outside Bodrum and allow visitors an intimate glimpse into traditional Turkish country life. There you can find the hospitality for which the Turkish countryside is known and see the culture which has been living in these lands for centuries. Stop at a real village coffee house, stroll past the town mosque, see at work another generation of Turkish farmers, stop at the local cooperative where handicrafts and rugs woven by the local ladies are sold bargain cheap in these tradional weaving towns...

Bodrum Amphitheatre is another structure started in the reign of King Mausolus, although it wasn't fully completed until the Roman era. Situated on the hills over looking Bodrum town with a great panorama, the theatre had a capacity in the region of 13,000. The theatre has been diligently restored and today houses the concerts and festivals in the summer.

Myndos Gate, a further relic from King Mausolus's time, is the most significant remaining part of the original city wall. Located on the west side of the resort, this was one of two entrances to ancient Halicarnassus. The gate is named after the town which it faced, Myndos (now Gümüslük).

Bodrum harbor and old town. Walk with your guide through the quaint maze of streets that now grace old Bodrum's town center. See the fleet of locally built wooden sailboats that serve the popular yacht charter market. Your guide can point out the reliable shops used by locals without extraordinary "starting prices", if you wish.

The architects of the monumental tomb were Pythius and Satyrus. From south to north it was 63 feet wide and it was surrounded by 36 columns. The funeral chamber itself was 8 by 9 meters and about 2 meters high. Today you can see the cleared platform and some of the finds from the magnificent Mausoleum. The stones were used for the construction of the castle and some parts of the tomb are exhibited at the British Museum in London, England.
